Tomorrow’s economy will be shaped by the work we do today. That’s why the Town of Tonawanda is working with residents, community groups, organized labor, and local businesses to set out a community-driven vision for growing our economy for the future.
The effort is called Tonawanda Tomorrow and will be focused on creating good-paying jobs for the 21st Century, preparing our residents and workers for those jobs, and reinvesting in our community to preserve what makes Tonawanda such a great place to do business and raise a family.
Over a ten month period starting in the Fall of 2016, Tonawanda Tomorrow drove a process for creating an economic action plan that is grounded in data, shaped by residents and businesses, and deepens Tonawanda’s role as a key regional economic hub.
A Community Collaboration
A broad group of partners from the public, private, and nonprofit sector have joined the Town of Tonawanda to launch this initiative. This partnership includes the Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology, Clean Air Coalition of WNY, the Ken-Ton Chamber of Commerce, the Kenmore Teachers’ Association, the WNY Area Labor Federation (AFL-CIO), Erie County, the University at Buffalo Regional Institute, and others.
Support for Tonawanda Tomorrow
Tonawanda Tomorrow is supported by the US Economic Development Administration through its POWER Initiative. Numerous local organizations are matching this federal investment with their time, energy and commitment of resources.
